6 Acne Home Remedies That Work

Article by Caizechong

Having acne lowers our self esteem and effects our confidence in a really big way. We all deserve clear skin, and natural remedies are the way forward. It’s important that we learn as much about natural cures as possible and apply them as rapidly as possible

Garlic is a herb that has proven to be effective in curing the toughest acne problems with not only its external application, but even when taken internally. You just have to eat three seeds of raw garlic once a day for a month. This helps in purifying and cleansing blood to keep acne away.

Drinking good, spring water (still or carbonated, it makes no difference) is very important in that it not only helps your skin to stay hydrated and supple, but it aids your body in cleansing itself of toxins, pesticides and other harmful components; if your body is not well hydrated with good quality spring water (not soda water nor chlorinated tap water – if you must use tap water make sure you use a powerful filter), it tries to eliminate toxins in a number of ways, including the skin (hence the appearance of breakouts related to your diet, for example).

Eating more fruits and vegetables can help give your body the nutrients it craves and needs for replacing dead skin cells. You primarily want to eat foods that contain higher levels of zinc and selenium, like Brazil nuts and pumpkin seeds, as this nutrient has been proven to be very effective when trying to cure acne naturally.

Do some meditation and breathing exercises every morning and evening to let the clean oxygen fill your body. Breathing exercises will help your body to flush toxins in your blood. With clean oxygen in your blood circulation, toxins will naturally be expelled. You will also have calmer and peaceful mind. Meditation will also help relax your body and relieve stress from your body. When you have less stress, you will naturally cure your acne with ease.

Some plants that seem effective for curing skin disorders and are used in herbal acne remedies – either for topical application or for ingestion – are German Chamomile (digestion-improving properties), Neem (blood-purifying and antibacterial properties), Witch Hazel (astringent properties), Goldenseal (antibiotic properties), Burdock (liver-stimulating properties), Echinacea (immune-boosting properties), Aloe Vera (skin-soothing properties), etc. Essential oils like evening primrose oil, lavender oil, borage oil, blackcurrant seed oil, etc., are also used in herbal acne remedies.

Tea tree oil. It is a natural, topical antibiotic and antiseptic. To get rid of acne use the product full strength on blemishes two or three times a day. A study conducted by the department of dermatology of the royal Prince Hospital in South Wales, Australia found that a five percent solution of tea tree oil was as effective as Benzoyl peroxide for most cases of acne without the irritation. Benzoyl peroxide is the active ingredient ion most over-the-counter acne products but it is extremely drying.
