Question by CURIOUSGAL: I need some herbal and/or homemade remedies to get rid of dark spots on the skin?
I had a rash called pityriasis rosea for a very long time now. Its gone a good while now eventhough there are still a few small patches on my lower abdomen but not much.Anyway…this thing left behind some rather unsightly dark marks on the visible areas of my skin. I want to wear shorts and sleeveless tops again but the marks are fading away too slowly. Can anyone please help me out with something i can try at home because the lotions i use seem to be useless…plzzzzz.
Thanks in advance and reply ASAP PLEASE! thnx again

Start by exfoliating the dead skin. Mix honey and sugar together and apply to wet skin and gently massage in circular motion. Their is a product you could buy at Walgreen’s or longs, target, that’s not real expensive. It’s called Ambi and buy the one for dark spots, it’s about $ 7.00 and has 2%hydroquinone in it. Hydroquinone is a natural bleaching agent that will help lighten up dark spots. Just make sure you only spot treat and use lots of sunscreen.

Please go through the website below for detailed info. In the mean time, if you wish, you can try this small tip. Pluck some tender leaves of neem, grind it in to a soft paste with a small pinch of turmeric powder. Apply this paste to the affected area. Please take care of your cloth, since turmeric may stain it.

don’t buy skin lightening whitening bleaching products with hydroquinone or mercury because these can harm the skin after long term use.. choose products with kojic acid, licorice, among others which are all-natural and derived from plant extracts therefore considered safe..

here’s a good source for safe AND potent products that work..
