Question by AceOfSpades: I’m wondering does anyone know of any natural and/or herbal remedies for my dog?
She’s a German Shepherd/Shar-pei mix, and she has skin allergies. I took her to the vet and she got a Cortisone shot which helped her with the itching. They also gave me some Prednisone, but she seems to be allergic to the Prednisone. I don’t want her to have to take a shot every month, because that dosage should have lasted three months. But she’s scratching again, and it’s almost constant. I’ve tried Oatmeal baths, they don’t curb the itching. She’s also is on a Vitamin E pill to help her skin as well. So if anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks.

last year my dog was on prescription allergy meds. We gave it to her every day with a little peanut butter. There are probably other meds you can try. My dog was tearing holes in her skin from excessive itching, it was horrible!
the Vet said she could have benadryl if she needed occasional help.
I hope your pup feels better!

Try fish oil. My dog has the same issues and does much better when on a diet high in omega 3 6 and 9. I have to give him the supplements every day and I feed him a kibble made from salmon meat. When choosing a food, look to make sure it doesn’t contain added gluten or corn and that the meat is first on the ingredient list, with rice or oatmeal at least 3rd or 4th on the ingredient list. The higher the meat content, the better the food. Also keep applying the topical treatments you are using. It takes a week or so to see results with the supplements and diet change.

I did a lot of research about what to use to relieve itch and rashes and I can recommend Neem products..they work really well..no harm in trying-they are organic.
